What a priority result can tell you
Hawaiʻi uses cesspool priority information to describe environmental and public health concerns. The result is a planning reference. It cannot diagnose the parcel, confirm the condition of a cesspool, or replace a current determination from the Hawaiʻi Department of Health (DOH).
The statewide requirement generally calls for cesspools to be upgraded, converted, or connected to sewer before January 1, 2050, subject to exemptions and other applicable requirements. Some property conditions or activities can trigger separate requirements. A map category alone should not be used to assign an earlier date.

The TMK is the parcel identifier used in Hawaiʻi property records. You may find it on a Hawaiʻi County real property tax bill, deed, title report, appraisal, or county property record. Copy the complete number exactly as shown because agencies and online tools may display punctuation differently.
If several dwellings or parcels are involved, confirm which TMK matches the structure and wastewater system you are researching. An address alone can lead to the wrong parcel.

Online maps and agency records can change. If the parcel does not appear, the system type is unclear, or different sources conflict, do not rely on the result until the discrepancy is checked.

DOH lists a 2026 Cesspool Conversion Revolving Loan Program that is under development and expected to be administered by the Hawaiʻi Green Infrastructure Authority.
